Rob Hulse to support young footballers at Tesco Cup National Final
Derby County striker Rob Hulse will attend the English Final of the grassroots youth football tournament, the Tesco Cup, at his home ground Pride Park on Sunday 9 May.
Hulse will be on hand to give the talented young footballers tips, as they compete for a place in the Tesco Cup UK final and a chance to represent England at the Reebok Stadium, Bolton on May 16.
The Tesco Cup is a home nations grassroots football competition across three age groups, U13 boys, U14 girls and U16 girls. Over 3,600 teams from England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales entered the initial stages of the 2010 Tesco Cup. Following County and Regional finals, just 12 English teams remain in the competition. Teams will represent the Central, Northern, Southern and South West regions of England at Pride Park.
Speaking ahead of the National Final, Hulse commented, ‘With over 60,000 youngsters entering the Tesco Cup tournament this year, it is a fantastic achievement for the twelve teams who have reached the English final. I look forward to watching them play and picking out a few potential stars of the future.'
The Tesco Cup is part of a wider commitment from Tesco to encourage children to get involved in sport. Now in its fifth year, Tesco works in conjunction with the FA and local communities to provide young footballers with the opportunity to play in an organised tournament on a National and International stage.

U14 Girls:
Central Region - Sporting Club Albion
Northern Region - Chester le Street Cestria
Southern Region - QPR
South West Region – Brislington FC
U16 Girls:
Central Region – Cambridge City
Northern Region - Manchester City Ladies
Southern Region - West Ham
South West Region - Truro City
